Emma Davies is a clarinettist, teacher and music leader based in Bristol. Having recently graduated with a Masters in Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama she is cultivating a colourful and varied career compiling solo recitals, orchestral performance, community music projects and teaching.

Performance

As a performer Emma is engaging and enthusiastic. She believes passionately in the healing power of music and loves to compile recital programmes which tell a story and take the audience on a journey. Her time spent studying with renowned clarinettist Robert Plane at RWCMD inspired her love for the extensive English clarinet repertoire, and she is keen to shine a light on some of these perhaps lesser known gems. Emma has appeared twice at the wonderful Priston Festival in Bath and regularly performs for Wiltshire Rural Music in Trowbridge. Her most recent engagement was a solo recital for the Bristol Ensemble's At Home series during the spring lockdown. For enquiries regarding performance bookings contact Emma here.

Community Music

Community music is at the heart of Emma's musical career. She has enjoyed a strong association with Wiltshire Rural Music since 2015, and frequently performs as part of their Tune@Noon and Keep Music in Mind projects, both of which aim to bring high quality live music into rural communities.

She currently works for Preludes, Bristol Ensemble's prestigious education programme, bringing high quality music education to children from disadvantaged areas of Bristol with a huge sense of fun and adventure.

Alongside this she has worked for Arts Active, Cardiff's community arts hub, since 2019. Through this organisation she co-leads Soundworks, a weekly music group for adults with disabilities, and Open Orchestra, where she explores music and sound with children with disabilities.
